01Market

Demand is not the constraint. Supply is.

Independent research puts the addressable market in the hundreds of billions, with the sharpest growth in exactly the sectors that cannot accept a foreign-controlled supply chain. The opportunity is not proving that drones are useful. It is building somewhere else to buy them from.

02The thesis

Four decisions taken early, which cannot be taken late.

Every one of these is an engineering choice made before the first airframe was built. Together they are the reason the platform can be manufactured at volume, sold at a defensible price and sustained in the field by the people who operate it.

01

Designed for volume from day one

The airframe was drawn for an ultra-high volume assembly line before it was drawn for flight. Competitors retrofit legacy designs to a production process. That decision cannot be taken retroactively, and it is the reason the unit economics hold at scale rather than collapsing under it.

02

Sovereign supply

85 percent of the aircraft is made in house, in the United Kingdom, with parts and partners sourced from friendly nations and a defined pathway to remove China from the supply chain entirely. For defence and critical national infrastructure buyers, provenance is not a preference, it is the procurement condition.

03

Repaired in the field, not written off

The aircraft is field-repairable after a thirty-foot drop, using ordinary tools, by an operator working remotely. Damage costs a component rather than an airframe, so a fleet holds its value instead of being consumed by a replacement cycle.

04

One common platform

Five airframes share one architecture, one parts bin and one three-minute build. There is no duplicate tooling and no separate line per variant, and flexible tooling adapts to a new mission variant in about two weeks rather than a product cycle.

“I founded ShadowVu to build drones in a sustainable manner, and I wanted to do this at ultra high volumes.”

“I also wanted to make them field maintainable, so that they could be maintained by somebody working remotely with ordinary tools. We have removed the need for exotic materials. We have removed the need for a lot of complex assembly.”

03Designed capacity

What the platform is engineered to produce.

The figures below are design targets at maximum theoretical build-out: what the architecture and the three minute TAKT time would permit at unlimited lines, sites and shifts. They are not current output and they are not a production forecast. The operating plan is the line model beneath them.

The operating plan

The line model is what the business is built on.

One line is 15 operators. Capacity is added by repeating an identical line rather than by redesigning the process, which is what a single common platform with no duplicate machinery buys.

ConfigurationOutput
1 line, single shift105,000+ units/yr
3 lines, single shift315,000+ units/yr
5 lines, single shift500,000+ units/yr
5 lines, three shifts1,500,000 units/yr

The line model tops out at 1,500,000 units per year and does not reconcile with the design targets above. Both are published with that distinction attached: the design targets show the architecture has headroom, the line model is what to plan against. A facility of 40,000 to 60,000 sq ft supports the first three to five lines, several territories are under evaluation, and the plant is targeted to be operational at the end of Q2 2026. Current production volumes are not published.

04Intellectual property

The position is registered, not asserted.

The defensibility of the business rests on protected design and a manufacturing method that is difficult to copy without repeating the same decisions from the beginning.

Design rights
Held in full

Held together with the design for manufacture.

Design rights are held together with the design for manufacture, which is the part that matters commercially. A competitor can look at the aircraft. Reproducing the three-minute build, the common platform and the tooling that adapts in about two weeks is a different problem entirely.

04

Sovereign supply chain

High reliance on Chinese products

05

Capital that is not written off

Total asset replacement after damage or loss

06

Built to be recycled

Lack of sustainability, disposable airframes

Industry norms the platform was designed to remove.
